Did he just put “Cubs” and “World Series” in the same sentence? I’ll have what he’s drinking. You sent me an article a while back about how nobody cares about the Chi Sox being in first place. You know why? See the MLB 2005 World Series Champs. We’ve been there before. They’re 6 1/2 games up now btw.

TX, I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you. I agree that the Cubs demise is indeed imminent, however, I think a mid-August meltdown is more likely: why? Simple: the centennial. The Cubs will contend just long enough for every major syndicated columnist and half of the blogosphere to write about how utterly poetic it would be for the Cubs to win on the 100th anniversary of their last World Series triumph. Then, in truly agonizing fashion, just as the Cubs receive the nation’s moral support and myriad pink-hat-wearing bandwagoners, the universe will restore order and the Cubs will return to their losing ways. The end.

The answer is simple Sossypoo. The Cubs were SWEPT by the D-Rays. This is a pro-Cubs website only. Right now, if you go to ESPN.com, on the front page is a how-to on becoming a band-wagon Cubs fan. I thought it was hilarious.

i hope they had a direct link to purchase pink cubs hats. bandwagon fans can’t be expected to put too much effort into finding one themselves.
